Expedia is my top choice for booking accommodations. It’s user-friendly, offers a wide range of options, and lets you bundle flights and activities for seamless travel planning.
Another great option for booking hotels is Booking.com, which has some great deals if you sign up for their Genius program. They also offer a lot of smaller properties in Mexico.
VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner) is my top choice for booking vacation rentals. From cute apartments to beachfront villas, VRBO has lots of options and often has less added fees than Airbnb.
Grupo Xcaret owns and operates some of the very best hotels in Riviera Maya including Hotel Xcaret Mexico, Hotel Xcaret Arte, and La Casa de la Playa.
Barceló Hotel Group offers 6 different properties in Riviera Maya, Mexico with affordable options for both adults and families.
The Fives Hotels and Residences has 3 beautiful properties in Riviera Maya, Mexico including The Fives Downtown, The Fives Beach, and The Fives Oceanfront.
TRANSPORTATION
Skyscanner is a great place to start looking for flight deals. I love their “Explore Everywhere” feature where you can find the cheapest destinations from your departure airport.
I recommend using Discover Cars for rental cars in Mexico. They have very detailed ratings and reviews for both national and international rental companies so you can quickly find the best deal.
I recommend using Cancun Airport Transportation for private transfers from Cancun International Airport. Airport taxis are overpriced and unreliable so a private transfer is the safest and most-hassle free way to go.
Busbud is a great platform for booking bus transportation in Mexico. The ADO website is only in Spanish whereas Busbud provides a convenient booking option in English.
Tours & Activities
Viator is the best platform for booking tours and activities in Mexico. They have flexible booking options and tons of activities to choose from.
GetYourGuide is also another great platform to book tours and activities in Mexico and around the world. They have great support and a convenient app.

Travel Insurance
I recommend using Travel Insurance Master for short trips. It’s a handy travel insurance marketplace where you can easily compare policies from the top providers.
