Mandarina Seaside Restaurant is located on the beach near the main square in Holbox. It’s open all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

But I especially like the spot for breakfast because of the calming ambiance and great views.

The restaurant mixes Mediterranean and Mexican-inspired cuisine, a traditional breakfast menu that includes Mexican hits like chilaquiles and enchiladas, and other classics like fruit and yogurt, pancakes, and French toast.

I had the French toast here, and it was delicious! But the view of the ocean stretching out in front of you, with zen music in the background, is just the cherry on top!

This restaurant has the best breakfast in Holbox, with homemade bread, avocado toast, delicious smoothie bowls, pancakes, fresh juices, and much more.

They also go through a lot of care with the presentation, so the plates usually look very photogenic with an avocado shaped into a flower and other fun touches.  The smoothie bowls are almost too pretty to eat!

I always make a point to go to Painapol whenever I’m visiting Holbox–it never disappoints!

There’s various food here, from seafood to classic Mexican dishes. The shrimp cocktail and coconut fried shrimp are the most popular meals.

They have a simple bar with classic drinks like margaritas or a handful of local beers. And the best part is, you can get to the beach in one minute from here.

It’s got an open-air atmosphere with large wooden tables and a wood burning oven.  On the menu, you’ll find beautifully presented dishes such as octopus, steak, short ribs, flatbreads, and grilled vegetables.

Most restaurants on Holbox are decorated with a rustic, bohemian vibe. But Ser Esencia has a more modern feel to it and is pretty upscale.

The vibrant atmosphere is accompanied by good food and great service, as well.  On the menu, you’ll find grilled fish, mushroom risotto, lobster pasta, organic chicken, and more.
