Viva La Travelista Disclosure

Some exciting news has just been announced for anyone planning a family trip to Mexico!

Riviera Maya’s favorite family resort, already well-known for its unique luxury and eco-adventure offerings, is upping the ante with a $700 million expansion that’s set to open by summer 2025.

Hotel Xcaret Mexico just announced plans for a major upgrade, which will turn the resort into an even better destination for families, offering everything from kid-friendly pools and waterslides to adult-only dining and rooftop relaxation.

Bringing Everyone Together with Spaces for All Ages

The expansion will nearly double the room count at Hotel Xcaret Mexico, bringing the total to 1,800, and will introduce 10 new “Casas” that offer something for each age group.

Think of these Casas as mini-communities within the hotel, each with a vibe that caters to different ages—from spaces designed just for kids and teens to areas reserved exclusively for adults.

There will be dedicated Casas for families with children aged 0-9, 10-12, and 13-17, as well as adults-only Casas with their own rooftop and private restaurant.

Each Casa will also offer unique activities and amenities that cater to the age group it serves.

New Amenities to Keep the Whole Family Entertained

Hotel Xcaret Mexico is pulling out all the stops with new family-friendly amenities, which will now include 16 pools, four of which are on rooftops.

There will be two rooftop pools for families, one for teens, and an exclusive one for adults, so everyone has a space that feels just right for them.

And for a splash of fun, five massive new waterslides are in the works, adding to the hotel’s already impressive lineup of water activities.

If you’re traveling with kids or teens, there will be plenty to keep them busy. Younger guests will have a kids-only “hotelito” (small hotel) to enjoy, while older kids can check out the teen club.

And the whole family can kick back at Xinema, a 24-hour restaurant that also doubles as a movie theater. For the adults, there’s even a new speakeasy bar, perfect for a little grown-up relaxation.

A family-focused wellness experience will also debut at the renovated Muluk Spa, combining relaxation and entertainment to create unforgettable family moments, with a dedicated adults-only section also available.

Unforgettable Dining by Michelin-Starred Chefs

Hotel Xcaret Mexico has already set a high standard with its all-inclusive dining, but this expansion will take things even further.

Soon, guests will be able to choose from 20 signature dining options, each with its own twist on both Mexican and international flavors.

Expect big names in the culinary world, including Michelin-starred Mexican chef Carlos Gaytán, who will continue to lead Ha,’ one of the resort’s most acclaimed restaurants.

Joining him is chef Paco Méndez, also a Michelin star-holder, who’s known for his work at COME in Barcelona, as well as the Encanta restaurant at Hotel Xcaret Arte.

With so many dining options, there’s sure to be something for every taste—from traditional Mexican dishes to exciting global flavors.

Commitment to Sustainability and the Community

Hotel Xcaret Mexico has always been a pioneer in eco-friendly tourism, and this expansion will continue to build on that legacy.

The new additions will feature sustainable design elements that blend with the natural surroundings, helping to minimize the hotel’s environmental footprint.

Since opening, the hotel has been dedicated to practices that protect and celebrate the local ecosystem, and it was even the first hotel in the world to earn EarthCheck certification.

But it’s not just the environment that will benefit from this project. The expansion is also creating over 1,600 new jobs in its first phase, which is great news for the local community.
