Does Target ship to Mexico?

No, Target currently does not ship to Mexico or any international countries outside of the United States. They also do not ship to international freight forwarders.

Target Alternatives in Mexico

These are the best Target alternatives in Mexico where you can shop for American products and brands.

Unfortunately, none of these have quite the same ambiance as Target that makes you want to sip on a Starbucks latte while you stroll through the aisles, but they’re great places to get your Target fix while living or traveling in Mexico.

Walmart

One of the most popular American retail chains in Mexico is Walmart.

With more than 2,700 stores throughout the country, it’s a one-stop shop for all your shopping needs whether you’re looking for groceries, electronics, or clothing.

Walmart stores in Mexico look and feel just like Walmart stores in the US, but are typically a bit smaller. For example, the Walmart in Playa del Carmen is still large but not quite Super Center size.

They still have a wide selection of products at affordable prices and you’ll be able to find familiar American brands, as well as lower-cost Mexican alternatives.

They also offer many of the same services as Target, such as grocery delivery, pharmacy services, and more.

Walmart also offers Mexico online shopping, so you can always have your products delivered right to your door.

Like in the US, Walmart is great for low-cost shopping but doesn’t have the same selection of trendy home goods, stylish clothes, and fashion products that you can typically find at Target stores.

The chain offers multiple types of stores branded as HΓper, Mega, Super, Mercado, and Express–each brand is a different size and offers a different range of products.

For example, in Playa del Carmen the largest Soriana store is known simply as “Mega” and offers a huge selection of products, including clothing, home goods, electronics, furniture, beauty products, and more.

You’ll be able to find some popular American brands for home and grocery items, but Soriana also offers many lower-cost Mexican brands as well.

Soriana currently has over 800 stores in Mexico and you’ll be able to find a store location in most large cities throughout Mexico.

Sam’s Club

Similar to Costco, Sam’s Club is a membership-based retail chain with nearly 170 locations across many different states in Mexico.

Sam’s Club in Mexico is very similar to Sam’s Club stores in the United States with bulk discounts on all kinds of products, from groceries to electronics and home goods.

If you’re living in Mexico, a Sam’s Club membership can be a great way to shop for affordable American products at low prices. Plus, I’m pretty sure you can use your Sam’s Club membership card from the US!

Currently, Sam’s Club has locations in major cities in Mexico such as Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Merida, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, and Nuevo Vallarta.

Ikea

If you’re looking for Target’s more trendy and stylish home goods, furniture, and decor items, then Ikea is your best alternative in Mexico. Ikea only has two locations in Mexico–Mexico City and Puebla.

Like Target, Ikea in Mexico has a great selection of home goods and decor items at affordable prices.

They offer an extensive range of products for the bedroom, living room, kitchen, and more, so you can outfit your home in the style that you want.

And if you don’t live in Mexico City or Puebla, you can still take advantage of the delivery option available in nearby zones to have your products delivered to your home.

πŸ‡²πŸ‡½ Traveling to Mexico soon?

These are the Mexico travel resources I use and recommend:

🏨 Hotels: I always find the best deals for Mexico hotels and resorts on Expedia or Booking.com. If you prefer a vacation rental, check VRBO as they are often cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!

✈️ Flights: I recommend using Skyscanner for the best Mexico flight deals. Be sure to sign up for their price alerts for your preferred travel dates.

πŸš— Rental Cars: I recommend using Discover Cars because you can compare multiple car rental companies and see detailed ratings for overall value, ease of pick-up, efficiency of agents, car condition, and overall time spent.

πŸš™ Cancun Airport Transportation: I recommend booking a private transfer with Cancun Airport Transportation for the quickest and most hassle-free option!

🀿 Tours & Activities: I always use Viator or GetYourGuide for booking tours and activities in Mexico. You can cancel up to 24 hours before the tour for a full refund, plus they have excellent customer service if you were to have any issues.

🚨 Travel Insurance: After my Dad broke his hand in a taxi accident in Playa del Carmen, I always recommend buying travel insurance before your trip for added peace of mind! I recommend Travel Insurance Master for short trips or Safety Wing for digital nomads.

β˜€οΈ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Don’t forget to add biodegradable sunscreen to your Mexico packing list! Regular sunscreen is prohibited when swimming in the ocean and cenotes in Mexico, so you’ll need to pack some biodegradable sunscreen for sun protection. I recommend Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is reef-friendly, vegan, and cruelty-free.
