When deciding where to stay on Isla Mujeres, you can either choose to stay near Playa Norte or at quieter hotels towards the southern part of the island.
Playa Norte is the liveliest area of the island and where you’ll find the best beaches, restaurants, and bars. On the other hand, hotels towards the southern part of the island offer guests more peace and quiet.
Hotel Beló Isla Mujeres is located on the quiet western side of Isla Mujeres, about 15-20 minutes away from the ferry terminal and the bustling Playa Norte area.
This location offers guests a tranquil and peaceful vacation spot to relax and unwind.
But if you want to go out to eat, you’ll need to take a taxi or rent a golf cart to get around as there aren’t many restaurants within walking distance.
There is a dedicated taxi stand right outside of the hotel and it costs around $150 pesos (~$8 USD) to get to Playa Norte or Avenida Miguel Hidalgo, where you’ll find the majority of restaurants.
Alternatively, you can rent a golf cart from the hotel for around $100 USD for 24 hours, which is one of the best things to do in Isla Mujeres and the best way to explore the island.
We personally did this and it was so fun! The hotel isn’t too far from Punta Sur, which is the southernmost point of the island and shouldn’t be missed for picturesque cliffside views.
Overall, the location of Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres is great if you’re looking for a quiet retreat but it might be a bit remote for those that prefer to be in the middle of all the action.
Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres Review: Rooms
Room Rating: 9/10
Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres offers guests a luxurious and comfortable stay with modern, spacious guest rooms.
The hotel features 65 guest rooms, each one decorated with teal, pink, and yellow accents with rustic wood and stone furnishings.
Guest rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs for entertainment as well as mini-fridges that come stocked with minibar items available for purchase.
Many of the rooms also offer balconies with tables and chairs where you can enjoy oceanfront views from your private balcony space.
Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres also offers king rooms, double rooms, and suites to meet your accommodation needs.
Bathrooms at Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres feature a separate toilet area, walk-in shower, bathrobes, hair dryers, and large vanities – perfect if you need more than one person getting ready at once!
The only con is that there are no doors on the entrance to the bathroom. The toilet area has a door but the entrance to the bathroom is open.
This isn’t really an issue for couples or close friends but it’s something that could be a concern for families.
Overall, Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres offers modern rooms with comfortable beds and everything you need for a comfortable stay–I had a great night’s sleep!
Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres Review: Pool and Beach
Pool/Beach Rating: 8/10
Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres features a large oceanfront swimming pool and jacuzzi surrounded by lounge chairs, as well as cabana beds directly on the beach.
The pool has food and drink service available from the Pool Bar so you can order a piña colada or frozen margarita without ever having to leave your seat!
The beach area at Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres is nice, although not quite as picturesque as other beaches on the island, mainly due to the large sandbags in the water.
The beach area also has a private dock where you can walk out or even try out some snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters off Isla Mujeres.
Plus, there are wooden swings in the water under a “Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres” sign, which makes for a great photo opportunity!
But perhaps the best area to relax at Hotel Belo is the stunning adults-only rooftop pool and bar, which offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the sunset over Cancun. It was unforgettable!
Overall, I was very impressed with the pools at Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres. They offer a great place to cool off and relax, and the rooftop pool is a real stunner!
However, the beach area is a little bit underwhelming. If you are a beach person, I would recommend heading to Playa Norte for a more jaw-dropping beach experience.

Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres offers guests a variety of culinary options to choose from during their stay including an on-site restaurant, an outdoor pool bar, and 24-hour room service.
The hotel is not all-inclusive, although all-inclusive packages are available for an additional cost.
For those looking for a more substantial meal, Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres’s on-site restaurant called 140° is open for breakfast and dinner.
The restaurant features a breakfast buffet, as well as a la carte menu items for dinner from a mix of French, Mexican, and Asian fusion cuisine.
The Pool Bar (known as “The Palm”) has more casual menu items such as tacos, quesadillas, ceviche, and french fries. Plus, you can order food, drinks, and cocktails without ever having to leave your seat!
Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres also provides 24-hour room service, which is a lifesaver if you’re looking to stay in and relax while still enjoying a delicious meal. We ordered champagne to sip in our bath robes and it was a real treat!
At all of the food and beverage outlets at Hotel Belo, prices were affordable and the food was good, although not spectacular.
Overall, Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres provides guests with plenty of dining options so you can stay at the hotel if you want to without getting bored.
However, if want a little more variety or a livelier atmosphere, I recommend heading out to explore the restaurants around Isla Mujeres.

Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres offers guests excellent service from its friendly bilingual staff. From the moment you arrive, Hotel Belo’s valet staff will welcome you with a warm greeting and offer luggage assistance.
The front desk staff was also very friendly and accommodating, and will do everything to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible.
The front desk also helped us tremendously in taking care of our golf cart rental by securing a reservation and pickup with a third-party vendor.
In addition, Hotel Belo also has a concierge desk located in the lobby that can help answer any questions or provide assistance with booking tours and activities.
The pool area at Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres is also top-notch, with attentive pool staff always on hand to ensure that everyone is having an enjoyable time and drinks are refilled.
Overall, I was very impressed with the service at Hotel Belo Isla Mujeres. They definitely understand how important good customer service is for their guests – which means they go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels taken care of during their stay.
