Best Beach Clubs in Playa del Carmen
The Playa del Carmen beaches in the downtown area are a little more crowded and congested but there’s still a ton of great beach clubs to enjoy! Here are some of the best beach clubs Playa del Carmen has to offer:
Travelista Tip: I personally prefer the beach clubs north of the Constituyentes ferry (see map at the end of the post), as the beaches are a little wider and the water is usually more clear and less affected by Playa del Carmen seaweed.
1. Mamitas Beach Club

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Entrance fee includes consumption
Mamitas Beach Club is considered by many to be the best beach club in Playa del Carmen. I’ve been there several times with friends and family and have always had a fun time!
It’s a large full-service beach club that offers lounge chair and sunbed rentals, as well as a pool, showers, and restrooms.
There’s also a separate sit-down restaurant with a full food and beverage menu. The food is nothing stellar but will hit the spot when you want to have nachos and margs on the beach!
Mamitas Beach Club is probably borderline party beach club because it’s located right next to Coralina but it’s not quite as rowdy. The music can get a little loud sometimes but it really just depends on the season.
Once you arrive, head to the ticket stand behind the main restaurant to purchase your wristbands.
2. Martina Beach Club

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: No
- π² Cost: Entrance fee includes consumption
Located on the north end of Playa del Carmen in the Coco Beach area, Martina Beach Club is a higher energy spot with party music, Go-Go dancers, and a swimming pool.
It’s located right next to Encanto Beach Club but is a little more upscale with nicer beach beds and cabana rentals.
With comfortable lounge chairs and good food and drinks, it’s one of my favorite Playa del Carmen beach clubs–and not too rowdy!
Plus, it’s one of the best Playa del Carmen beach clubs with a pool, so you can choose to lounge by either.
This part of the beach at Martina Beach Playa del Carmen is also nice because it’s a little more secluded and not quite as crowded.
3. Coralina Daylight Club

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: No
- π² Cost: Minimum consumption + service fee
Located right next to the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort, Coralina Daylight Club is a little more upscale and known for having the best beach party in Playa del Carmen.
It’s definitely more rowdy and the most popular Playa del Carmen beach club for bachelor and bachelorette parties in Mexico.
Coralina is adorned with stylish red decor and features a swimming pool where they host wild pool parties with loud music, go-go dancers, and champagne blasters.
It can get pretty crowded so you’ll definitely want to reserve in advance especially if you have a large group.
You can submit a reservation request on their website here. Note requests must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance.
4. Tata Beach Club (Kool Beach Club)

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Entrance fee includes consumption
Previously known as Kool Beach Club, Tata Beach Club is located right in between Mamitas and Coralina but is much more tame.
Unfortunately there was a kitchen explosion at Kool Beach Club and it has now been reopened as Tata Beach Club.
This club offers a full food and beverage menu, as well as a swimming pool, which is a great place to relax especially if the seaweed is bad.
The music here can sometimes be a little loud but it’s definitely not quite as party-oriented and is more family-friendly beach club in Playa del Carmen.
When I visited, the service was extremely slow, but they were also very under-staffed that day. Otherwise, the lounge chairs are very comfortable and it has a great location.
5. Zenzi Beach

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Consumption
Zenzi Beach is one of the best bars in Playa del Carmen but it also doubles as a beach club during the day. You can rent comfortable lounge chairs or just hang out at the restaurant.
The menu at Zenzi Beach Club Playa del Carmen offers a mix of American and Mexican cuisine with a full-service bar.
Plus you can stick around in the evening for live entertainment and free salsa lessons, that always draws a huge crowd!
6. Encanto Beach Club

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Entrance fee includes consumption
Encanto Beach Club is located on the north side of Playa del Carmen near the Coco Beach area.
Because it’s a little further away from the more central beach clubs, it’s usually less crowded and more chill. Plus, the beach area is usually more widespread.
Encanto offers beach chair rentals, a full-service bar with swings, and Playa del Carmen massage services. It’s not super posh but a nice spot if you want to escape the crowds.
7. INTI Beach

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Minimum consumption
INTI Beach Club Playa del Carmen is one of the best beachfront restaurants in Playa del Carmen with stylish and trendy decor.
The menu is a little more expensive and upscale offering items like baguettes, salads, ceviches, and seafood.
I really like INTI as a restaurant but the beach area is very small and most of the time, not the best.
In my opinion, it’s a better spot just to eat or work at the beach in Playa del Carmen with some nice ocean views.
8. Lido Beach Club

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Consumption
Lido Beach Club is a very cute beach club and Playa del Carmen breakfast restaurant that is super popular among the locals.
Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by cute string lights, red hearts hanging from the trees, and a fresh coconut cart.
There are also some fun swings at the beachfront bar. The beach area at Lido Beach Club Playa del Carmen isn’t always the best but the food is good, the service is great, and it has a very welcoming atmosphere.
9. Fusion

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Consumption
Fusion Beach Bar Playa del Carmen used to be a really great beach bar but due to some land disputes, it’s just open during the day as a beach club.
Next to the original location, Fusion offers lounge chairs, and a decent food and beverage menu.
It’s one of the cheapest Playa del Carmen beach clubs as menu prices are pretty affordable!
It’s also most notably the home of Aloha Paddle Club, which is the best place for Playa del Carmen paddleboard rentals.
If you want to give standup paddle boarding a try, consider booking a morning session at Aloha and then chilling out at Fusion for the rest of the day.
Best Beach Clubs Near Playa del Carmen
If you travel a little further outside of Playa del Carmen, the Riviera Maya beaches get more widespread and are a lot more impressive.
Below are the best beach clubs I would recommend visiting that are a little further away but definitely worth the trip if you’re up for it.
The easiest way to get to these beach clubs would be to take a taxi or consider renting a car in Playa del Carmen.
π For a hassle-free experience, book your car through my favorite rental service Discover Cars by clicking here!
10. Xalmar Beach Club

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Entrance fee includes consumption
Located about 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen towards Tulum, Playa Xpu Ha is such a special place and definitely my favorite beach in Playa del Carmen!
It’s a less well-known beach that’s more frequented by locals–the entire beach is just stunning and rarely disappoints!
There are a few different beach clubs on-site but the newest is called Xalmar Beach Club (it used to be called Playa Xpu Ha Beach Club).
This quiet Playa del Carmen beach club is very stylish and trendy with lounge chairs and beach beds–it has a very Tulum type of vibe but much more affordable!
Note if you go by taxi, it will be harder to get one for the return trip so it’s best to try and pre-arrange pickup with the taxi driver that dropped you off.
11. Punta Venado Beach Club

- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Entrance fee includes consumption
Punta Venado Beach Club is located about 25 minutes south of Playa del Carmen near Xcaret Park.
The beach club is on a widespread beach and offers big beach beds and bean bag chairs, as well as a hammock area.
Punta Venado is usually pretty quiet and has a good food and drink selection. It’s more of an off-the-grid spot if you want to escape the crowds.
Note if you go by taxi, it will be harder to get one for the return trip so it’s best to try and pre-arrange pickup with the taxi driver that dropped you off.
Also, reservations are required, which can be arranged by emailing reservations@cancun-adventure.com.
12. Marena Beach Club
- π Location: Google Maps
- π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family-Friendly: Yes
- π² Cost: Consumption
Marena Beach Club is located just north of Playa del Carmen and offers a more secluded spot for relaxing.
It’s actually part of a gated community but you can still visit as a guest. The easiest way to get there is by taking a quick 15 minute taxi from downtown Playa del Carmen.
Marena is not super fancy but is a nice relaxing spot offering a beachfront pool, a naturally secluded atmosphere with palm tree shade, and a widespread beach.

About Playa del Carmen Beach Clubs
Here’s what to know about Playa del Carmen beach clubs:
What is a beach club?
A beach club is essentially a beachfront restaurant offering premier beach access and the opportunity to rent lounge chairs, beach umbrellas, and receive food and beverage service.
Why visit a Playa del Carmen beach club?
If you want to visit the beach and you’re not staying at one of the many beachfront hotels in Playa del Carmen, you’ll definitely want to consider visiting a beach club for comfortable beach access and food and beverage service.
Comfortable Beach Access
My number one reason for visiting a beach club in Playa del Carmen is for the comfy lounge chair and the shade. I love going to the beach but it can get pretty freaking hot all year round.
Having an umbrella for shade makes it SO much more enjoyable. Plus, you’ll have premier beachfront access and not have to fight the crowds for a spot on the sand.
Food and Beverage Service
My number two reason for visiting a beach club is for the food and beverage service.
After all, does a trip to Playa del Carmen really count if you’re not sipping a frozen cocktail on the beach!? Keep the strawberry daiquiris and frozen margaritas coming, please!

What can you expect at a beach club?
Beach clubs are basically all about the amenities. At Playa del Carmen beach clubs you can typically expect to have:
- Lounge chair or beach bed
- Umbrella for shade
- Food and beverage service including alcohol
- Bathrooms or changing facilities
Some of the higher-end Playa clubs might also offer private cabanas, pools, bottle service, massage services, towels, and wifi.
Are Playa del Carmen beach clubs private?
Itβs important to know that Mexico has aΒ law to guarantee public beach accessΒ to all beaches in Mexico.
That means that even though beach clubs operate on the beach, the entire beach area is βtechnicallyβ still open to the public.
Most beach clubs do their best to rope or section off their beach beds and lounge chairs but this doesn’t always prohibit people from laying down their own beach blanket or chairs in the same space.
Some are more private than others so I guess you can call them “semi-private”.

What’s the vibe at Playa del Carmen beach clubs?
The beach club vibe in Playa del Carmen is honestly what you make it. You can find high-energy beach clubs for partying or more relaxed beach clubs to just chill out.
Playa del Carmen beach clubs are less trendy and bohemian than those you would find in Tulum, but still great spots for good music, tasty food, and refreshing drinks.
How do beach clubs in Playa del Carmen work?
Most beach clubs operate under a consumption-based model. This means that you will pay a fee to rent the lounge chairs but then all or part of this amount can be used for food and beverage.
For example, you may pay $700 pesos (~$35 USD) for the lounge chair rental, but then you can use $500 pesos (~$25 USD) for food and beverage.
How much do Playa del Carmen beach clubs cost?
Playa del Carmen beach club prices will depend on the beach club and the time of year. During high season (December – February) you can expect to pay more. On average, the price is around $30-$40 USD per person.
After you pay, they will usually give you a bracelet or wristband, and then you can choose from the available beach chairs.
Can you drink on the beach in Playa del Carmen?
Yes! Whether you choose to order drinks at a beach club or bring your own cooler, you are allowed to drink on the beach in Playa del Carmen.

Tips for Visiting Playa del Carmen Beach Clubs
Follow these tips to make the most of your Playa del Carmen beach club experience:
- Get there early: I would definitely recommend getting to a beach club as early as you can so you can get the best chairs in the front with unobstructed beach views. Beach clubs can fill up quickly so arrive early to guarantee your spot and take full advantage of a day at the beach.
- Reserve in advance if you can: Some beach clubs offer the opportunity to book online and reserve your chairs in advance. Do this ahead of time to guarantee your spot and have less stress when you arrive.
- Keep track of your consumption: You’ll definitely want to keep track of your food and beverage consumption. Some beach clubs will take advantage of foreigners so definitely review the bill and make sure your food and beverage credit has been applied correctly.
- Bring biodegradable sunscreen: Anytime you are going to be swimming in the ocean, it’s super important to wear reef-safe biodegradable sunscreen to protect the coral reefs.
